There will most likely be areas in your childcare centre, kindergarten and school playgrounds, such as under swings and climbing equipment that need to conform to safety and the critical fall height criteria.

The thickness of the rubber surfacing in these areas is relative to the height of the playground equipment.

GroundAbility recently installed Pro Lawn 25, a sand filled 25mm product manufactured in Australia, at Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary School in Annerley. We also laid soft fall rubber surfacing, a recycled rubber Shockpad, underneath the synthetic grass of the playground area to ensure children’s safety and to reduce injuries.

Our quick-to-install, weather resistant  Shockpads are available in varying thicknesses and density to meet the current Australian Standards.

Toowong Village is a prominent landmark and a major commercial precinct of Toowong, a busy inner city suburb, just outside of Brisbane CBD. GoundAbility was commissioned by Brisbane City Council to install synthetic grass on the nature strip of one of the main thoroughfares alongside Toowong Village.

Working closely with Brisbane City Council traffic control was put in place, allowing us to successfully complete the installation between the stipulated hours of 9pm and 4am.

We used Pro Lawn 35 that gives the area a fine leaf appearance with earthy thatching.

Pool smart with synthetic grass

The pool may not seem the most likely of places to find synthetic grass, but synthetic grass is quickly becoming a safe and smart-looking poolside surface of choice for homeowners.

One of the main reasons homeowners opt for synthetic grass as an alternative to more traditional pool surround surfaces like timber decking, concrete and pavers is the safety aspect.

We recently installed 37 mm Pro Lawn Gold around the family pool of a residential property in Wakerley, Brisbane. GroundAbility’s quick draining synthetic grass is a safe, non-slip surface that requires little to no maintenance, with no need for watering.

The second reason is the aesthetics. Synthetic grass innovation and technology has progressed rapidly in the last decade has developed products that make it almost impossible to distinguish between the real and the replica.

Unlike natural turf near a pool, synthetic grass doubles as a stylish pool surround as well as guaranteeing year-round green lawns, without the muddy, uneven patches caused by splashes and puddles from water overflow.

If you’ve never considered synthetic grass for your poolside surface, take a look at the GroundAbility Residential Gallery here for inspiration.

Turfing the old for new synthetic grass

Hopscotch House childcare centre in Coorparoo, Brisbane had tired and worn out natural turf in the main children’s play area.

The busy centre was looking for a low-maintenance alternative ground cover that still provided an enjoyable and fun space for the children.

GroundAbility replaced the natural turf with Pro Lawn 25, which is durable for a high-traffic area, yet soft under foot.
